Principal
Dr. Shwkar Abousweilem has been a Principal in District 111 for the past eight years at both Maddock and Burbank Schools.  Additionally, she has served as the District’s EL Program Coordinator for several years.  Dr. Abousweilem taught EL in District 111 for eight years prior to taking on an administrative role.  She received her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Argosy University and holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Chicago State University.  She is excited about leading the team at Liberty Junior High School and looks forward to meeting the students and families.

Attention BSD111 Families: Our Title I Informational Meeting will be held as an open forum on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Burbank School Cafeteria. Everyone is welcome to attend and learn more about our ISBE Title I Grant, how these funds support our schools, and the impact they have on meeting the academic needs of our students. We look forward to seeing you there!

We are excited to announce that District 111 will be using TalkingPoints to communicate with parents and guardians.  TalkingPoints is a two-way multilingual family engagement platform helping teachers and school leadership stay connected with families via text message.  Next week, you will receive a message from your child’s school regarding TalkingPoints.

2026-2027 Bus Routes

AM and PM Bus Routes have been posted for our Elementary Schools and for Liberty Junior High School. Eligible students should have also received route information via email. A student is eligible for transportation if the student resides 1.5 miles or more from his/her assigned school or must cross a street determined to be a hazardous crossing.
